The 95-member Evergreen Chorale joins with the Jefferson Symphony Orchestra to present Magnificat – Music for the Season on Friday, December 19 in Denver and Saturday, December 20 in Golden at Rockland Community Church.

Tickets: $22/adults; $18/62 & over, and students 13-18; $15/children 12 & under. Purchase tickets online at www.evergreenchorale.org or call 303-674-4002. Groups of 10 or more $17 per person by calling 303-674-4002.

The program begins with Bach’s Magnificat in D Major, featuring soloists, a choir of 95 voices and the 46 musicians of the Jefferson Symphony Orchestra (JSO), Dr. William Morse, music director, and organ under the baton of conductor Christine Gaudreau.  The Magnificat, set to Mary’s song of praise from the Gospel of Luke, is a celebratory masterwork that is recognized for its brilliance and its brevity. The program continues with John Rutter’s beloved Christmas Carols including What Sweeter Music, the joyful Star Carol and the whimsical Carol of the Donkey.  The Chorale will also perform Carol of the Magi featuring a cello solo and two Spanish Carols, Esta Noche and El Noi De La Mare.

Christine Gaudreau has been the Artistic and Musical Director of the Evergreen Chorale since 2010. Under her direction, the Chorale has expanded in terms of membership and artistic reach, enhancing the quality of its musical productions and establishing partnerships with such noted groups as the JSO, Colcannon, Fiesta Colorado, Denver Brass, Queen City Jazz Band, and others. The Chorale draws singers from across the area, including Arvada, Lafayette, Littleton, Denver, and of course Evergreen and Conifer. Some fourteen soloists, drawn from the chorale roster, are featured throughout the concert.

For 60 years, the Jefferson Symphony Orchestra has been making music that thousands of people in and around Jefferson County have enjoyed. It is a community orchestra, comprising more than 95 volunteer musicians, 45 of whom will play in this concert.
